Infectious Diseases >> Swine Flu

Prevention

  • Avoiding exposure to the virus by frequent hand washing, not touching your hands to your face (especially the nose and mouth), and avoiding any close proximity to or touching any person that may have flu symptoms.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hands cleaners are also effective.
  • Face masks may help prevent getting airborne flu viruses.
  • Stay away from crowded areas if there is a swine flu outbreak in your area
