I am glad to know that
Bioinformatics Centre established in 1999 at Jamnalal Bajaj Tropical
Disease Research Centre of Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences
with support from Department of Biotechnology (DBT) has been
actively helping research workers by providing Medline Search Service, Internet
Access, Inhouse Training and organizing National Workshops on Medical
Informatics, Research and Communication. With thousands of medical
journals being published throughout the world, vast amount of new
information is being generated on advances in medicine. A bibliographic
service always helps in keeping one updated with latest information for
furtherance of productive research
for better health care. The
‘Sevamed’, a quarterly update on ‘Infectious Disease Research and
Traditional Medicine’ published by this Centre has
completed two years
and has been well received by Scientists & Medical Teachers. From feed back from its readers and growing subscriber’s
list, I am pleased to see the interest of Medical teachers and Scientists
to keep abreast with advances in Medical Research and Traditional
Medicine.
