He has worked in Indian Army for 27 years in various positions in India and abroad and was a pioneer in propagating use of computers in clinical medicine in India. He invented a few of the world's first medical software products which include the universally usable Portable Health Record, Kidney Transplant Information System, Comprehensive Hospital Information System, Interactive Patient Information System etc. He designed a total Global Health Care System on Internet and a suitable Comprehensive Global Health Record for it.

	Associate Professor & Founder Head of Biomedical Engineering at AIT, Coimbatore and AIMS, Kochi. He is also an Associate Editor of Indian Journal of Medical Informatics. After doing MBBS (1989) from Kolkotta University he did Ph.D. (1995) in Biomedical Engineering from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. His research interests include electrophysiological investigations in different states of health and disease, application of e-Health, and also automated diagnostic decision support systems for various medical conditions. He has been awarded the prestigious "Shri Shyam Lal Saksena Memorial Award 2000-2001" from the National Academy of Medical Sciences for research in Biomedical Engineering.

He was awarded the Founder Fellowship of IMA Academy of Medical Specialties & became the National Professor IMACGP and President for Ophthalmological Society, North Zone Ophthalmological Society & National Vice President of Indian Medical Association. He has also helped in development of medical softwares including "Eyesoft" - a software for Ophthalmologists and "HMS - Hospital Management System" which helps in proper upkeep of medical records, including maintaining inventory & accounts of the practising doctor/hospital.
