q       Visited Central Chinmaya Vanaprastha Sansthan at Allahabad and discussed regarding camps on ‘Art of Graceful Ageing’ for Senior Citizens on 9th July, 2007.

q       Delivered a talk on ‘Mycobacterial ES antigens of diagnostic interest in pulmonary and extrapulmonary tuberculosis’ at Department of Biochemistry & Microbiology  at Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi  on 12th July, 2007.

q       Attended meeting at BARC, Mumbai regarding progress in development of TB test kit on 3rd August, 2007.

q       Visited SOS Children’s village at Lockport, Illinois and Vedic City started by Swami Mahesh Yogi at Iowa, US during 21st – 24th August, 2007. 

q       Visited Job Corps Centre for Training and Rehabilitation of dropouts and unemployed youth at Edison, NJ on 6th September, 2007.

q       Discussed with Shri. Aditya Ahluwalia, Chairman, Life Positive Foundation on 17th September, 2007 regarding organizing Health Retreats at Arogyadham.

q       Visited Department of Pathology, Newyork University School of Medicine for exploring collaborative research in TB diagnostic research and development of test kit on 19th September, 2007.

 

Dr. M.V.R. Reddy

q                  Made a presentation on ‘MGIMS – A Rural Medical Institute in India’ in the meeting of students & faculty of Rural Medical Education Programme (RMED)  at University of Illinois, College of Medicine, Rockford on 17th  August, 2007.

q          Presented a talk on “Molecular studies in Filariasis for the identification of diagnostic, vaccine and drug candidates” as a part of Biomedical Sciences Seminars at University of Illinois, College of Medicine, Rockford on 12th June, 2007.

q          Presented a lecture on “Medical Educational Research & Project based Innovation in Education Technology” to the participants of Medical Education Technology Workshop at MGIMS, Sevagram on 6th September, 2007.

 

Dr. Satish Kumar, Professor, Biochemistry & Dy Coordinator, BIC attended Overall Performances Review Meeting of Sub-DIC (BIC) established under BTISNet programme of DBT and made a presentation that followed detail discussion. Presentation went productive towards Continuation of BIC Project and Recognition as one of the TB Group Centres for Strengthening Bioinformatics in the related discipline. The Meeting was held on August 30, 2023 in DBT at New Delhi.

 

 

Arogyadham :

            Dr. T. Karthickeyan attended research Workshop on Naturopathy at National Institute of Naturopathy, Pune during 28th July to 4th August, 2007

Meetings of Friends of Arogyadham:

             Regular meetings of friends of Arogyadham were held on 2nd and 4th Saturdays in the months of July, August and September.  Video & Audio clippings on ‘From seeds of wisdom’ by Swami Sukhabhodhananda; ‘Inner peace for world peace’ by Shri S. N. Goenka; ‘Get rid of stress’ by Swami Sukhabhodhananda & ‘From creation to creator’ by Sadguru Jaggi Vasudev were screened.            

HERBAL GARDEN:

           Work of the wasteland development of about 220 acres behind Medical Institute was started on October 2nd 2002 and developed into Herbal Garden by Jain Charities through JISL. Water is brought by a 5-6 Km. pipeline from Pawnar river.  Presently Aonla (20500), Ritha (50), Karanj (103), Neem (292), Ashoka (155), Custard apple (105), have been planted under drip irrigation.  Application of farm yard manure and neem cake is in progress. 

            Onion seed crop (intercrop in Aonla) will be taken in about 30 acres in Rabi season.  This year pre-monsoon cotton crop on drip irrigation is taken as a demonstration plot for farmers. Till to date about 40-50 farmers visited to cotton crop. During this Kharif season crop’s like dhoincha, sunhemp, moong, udid, soyabean etc. taken as a green manuring crop. Few Aonla plants bear fruits in some quantity.
