Herbal Garden:

“Work is Life” culture of Jain Irrigation Systems Ltd. (JISL) has shown significant progress in development of Herbal Garden within 2 ˝  years. During 2004 – 05, along with Aonla, some leguminous crops like Udit, Mug, Gram, Sunflower, Soybean were taken as intercrops. These crops will help to enrich the soil fertility. Also, these crops were sown opposite to land slope, so that, rainwater is harvested, to the maximum extent in the field itself.

At present 18475 Aonla plants have been planted and this will be increased to about 20000 in rainy season. Some medicinal plants like Ashwagandha, Adulsa, Shatawari are planted on trial basis. About 1000 Jatropha (Bio-diesel) plants are planted on the hill side, where regular crops can not be taken. Due to acute shortage of water, banana intercrop along with Aonla in between, suffered to a large extent. To avoid water problem in future, deepening of oxidation pond is planned to increase its volume and other measures for water harvesting.
