1.      Arogya Dham, Traditional Health Care Project of Kasturba Health Society, the only one of its kind on Medical campus for positive health and productive life of Senior Citizens.

2.      homes for senior citizens are available at Arogya Dham, Near Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Sevagram to live in Harmony with Nature in Gandhian environment.

About Sevagram

·        Sevagram was ‘defacto capital of India’ during freedom struggle and is hallowed by the “Father of Nation”, Mahatma Gandhi.

·        Sevagram has been free of floods, cyclones, earthquakes and with plenty of sunshine.

·        Sevagram is centrally located and well connected to all corners of India by rail & air

·        Traditional Health Care Research Center with Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy etc., Canteen with vegetarian and health foods, Recreation facilities, Library, Satsang Bhawan, Herbal Gardens and walking tracks, are being developed in the backdrop of Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences.

·        Health care center with Ayurveda panchakarma procedures such as oil massage, hot fomentation, vaman, virechan etc. for promotion of positive health and for treatment of chronic ailments such as back ache, arthritis, asthma, stress etc. will be accessible to senior citizens.

·        In the first phase 60 comfortable residential twin cottages (12 quarters each in circle) with large drawing-cum-dining room, Bedroom (2), toilets (2), kitchen, lobby, meditation / prayer room and balcony (built up area of 800 Sq. ft.) will be constructed and made available on contribution of donation or interest free deposit for development of Arogya Dham. At present 12 simple cottages with bedroom cum living room are available for immediate occupancy.

·        The scheme is open to Senior Citizens with age of 52 years or more. Active professionals with Academic bent of mind and with Adhyathmic and Seva Bhav may only write for particulars of the project enclosing brief biodata. There will be ample opportunities to serve rural masses, associate with Medical College and Hospital activities or become members of Think Tanks for different professions for active discussion and presentation of views on topics of National interest.

Rules and Regulations

1.       Residential Quarter at Arogyadham will be constructed and allotted to a donor Senior Citizen on life time basis after one time contribution of Rs. 6 Lakhs (Rs.3 Lakhs by way of donation and Rs.3 Lakhs interest free deposit) to Kasturba Health Society for development of Arogyadham. In case for some reason, the donor decides to vacate the residential quarter, before completing 5 yrs and leaves Arogyadham, he will be eligible for the refund of the interest free deposit of Rs. 3 Lakhs at the end of 5 years. After completion of 5 years of stay. The same will be treated as donation to Kasturba Health Society for development Arogyadham Complex.

2.       If available, residential quarter may be allotted on contribution of Rs. 5000 on monthly basis by way of donation to Kasturba Health Society for Arogyadham.

3.       The Residential Quarters and the land on which the same will be constructed, will always remain the property of Kasturba Health Society.

4.       Kasturba Health Society will have the authority to revise donation amount to new applicants from time to time.

Rules to be observed by the Members of Arogyadham Residential Complex

1.      All occupants of Residential complex, while staying in it, will observe the code and conduct of this campus namely vegetarianism, no smoking, and no drinking. Simple living and high thinking is the creed of Sevagram culture. Family members and guests of the occupant should also observe the code and conduct on the campus. All residents do their best to maintain an atmosphere of serenity and tranquility in the Arogyadham area.

2.       All occupants are eligible for health care benefits at Traditional Health Care Centre and Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences by subscribing to Health Insurance Scheme of MGIMS.

3.      Residents will be required to pay electrical and water charges. In addition contribution is required towards expenses incurred for regular maintenance and up keep of the residential complex as decided by a committee of Residents.
